Home improvements

I just sawed a box spring in half with a jigsaw.

I love power tools.

(For the record: it’s the only way the box spring will fit up the stairs to the master bedroom. Also, did you know that the top of a box spring is made of… cardboard??? I’m a little disappointed.)

Allergic to cleaning!

Mandrina bought this wonderful cleaning stuff called “Green Stuff” or something of the sort. It’s all-organic, supposedly cleans anything, etc.

I just spent the better part of the last hour cleaning up “presents” that the kittens turned out to have left in a hidden spot. I’m not happy. Even more unhappy is my throat.

I am terribly allergic to this green stuff. Not quite anaphylactic shock, but I might be. I just don’t stay near enough to it to run the risk.

So I just sprayed three rooms in the house with green stuff. Guess where I’m not going for the next two hours…

On the plus side, I can always tell Mandrina that I can’t clean — it could kill me!

Sitting with kittens

I’m watching crappy television — the new “Blade the Series.”

It’s just entertaining enough that I’m going to see if it improves — it’s no Buffy, that’s for certain.

I’m reading up on CSS and XHTML — apparently, frames are a no-no — as I have to create the website for our wedding. I should probably not care so much, but I kinda liked the neatness of the Google Web Toolkit — recreating the page dynamically via AJAX seems like fun — albeit overkill. The wedding page needs things like the location and time, not fancy-schmancy effects. Note me still reading up on CSS.

Meanwhile, I have a kitten named Bit on my right, leaning right up against my leg. I have a kitten named Pixel leaning up against my left leg. I have a cat named Glitch sitting at the end of the futon. And now Bit just ran off, probably to do something she’s not supposed to do… I can’t believe I just watched 52 minutes of Blade, and only now is it getting violent. Disappointing.

Pixel needs to nap elsewhere

I’m trying to get some work done before going to bed. It’s one in the morning, so it’s really an uphill battle. Especially because I just realized I need some notes I left in my office.

It does NOT help that a kitten named Pixel decided to climb up into my chair and lie down (is that right, Abigail?) in my lap, PURRING as he falls asleep.

Just not fair!

Perpetually guilty

I was raised Roman Catholic. While I may have lapsed some (or a lot, depending how you look at it), I still can feel guilty with the best of them.

My dear friend Abigail told me tonight that I should just stop doing things out of guilt. My, wouldn’t that be easy! Come on, this morning I gave the naughty kittens each a small piece of cheese, simply because I felt guilty that I had given a large piece (or three) to my wonderful Glitch.
